The church is not a business. We do not aspire to turn a profit, increase revenues, or indulge frivolous spending. Rather we keep our costs to a minimum and give individually and communally as God calls us in order to learn the joy of trusting Him, grow in generosity, and see Him use our humble gifts to impact the world with the Gospel of Christ.
Therefore, the Scriptures urges us toward voluntary, glad-hearted giving as a biblical expression of worship, obedience, and responsibility in Christian community (See 1 Corinthians 9:9-11, 14. Also 2 Corinthians 9:6-7). These gifts support the ongoing ministries of Grace Church Hamilton, meeting needs in our community, supporting new church planting projects in NZ, and missions work around the world.
At the heart of it all, we give not out of guilt or pressure but out of gratitude and worship to the God who has given us all that we have, and who did not spare His own Son to save us.
